Bellinzona ... again

Those of you who remember every place I've been since moving to Europe will remember that we've already been to Bellinzona and have already written a post about it. So this will be mostly review for you. We took my parents to Bellinzona on our way from Lindau to Locarno - just a quick stop to see the castles there. There are three castles there and they make Bellinzona a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can easily spend a very full day visiting all three castles and some churches in Bellinzona, and maybe even fit in some shopping or some time at a cafe in the old town too.

If you want to read more about the castles of Bellinzona and the UNESCO site, you can visit this site: http://www.bellinzonaunesco.ch/castelliunesco/en/

We only visited Castelgrande, the biggest castle, with my parents. The other two castles are easily visible from Castelgrande and since it was raining out we decided just seeing them all without actually visiting them all was quite enough. Here are the other two castles on the hill, Montebello Castle and Sasso Corbaro Castle:

And here we are admiring them:

Some vineyards along the castle wall:

There is also a nice church in Bellinzona right in the old town called the Collegiate Church SS Pietro and Stefano. Here's my mom taking a picture inside of it:
