Nuremberg

This past weekend we traveled to Nuremberg with Martin's parents. We went mostly for the Christmas market there but it turns out there's also a ton of good shopping plus a castle there too. So, lots to do. Nuremberg is actually much larger than any of us had thought.

Priorities first, we hit the Christmas market several times throughout the afternoon and evening. Below are some pictures of the different stalls, the crowd, and the church on one side of the square that the main market was in. We actually found a lot of things to buy at this market ... we bought a lot of ornaments. This market was really good for ornaments.

Martin's mom, through some ornaments. Here she's buying several ornaments made out of white feathers.

Mmmmm ... sausage.

These are cookies that are actually ornaments. Neat, but I'd probably eat them all before Christmas.

After a long afternoon and evening at the Christmas market, we got up the next morning and wandered up to the castle. We didn't have time to do a full tour so we just took in the view and took a few pictures, then headed out.

Martin and his parents, taking a break once we got up to the castle.
