A Little Hike in the Pfälzerwald: Neidenfels - Lambertskreuz loop

Last weekend we decided to go for a little hike that started in the village of Neidenfels which is about 20 minutes from Bad Dürkheim by car. It was a 13km (8 mile) loop through the forest with a restaurant about 2/3 of the way around the loop at Lambertskreuz. We of course got lost, as we always do in the Pfälzerwald, and added a few extra miles to the loop but it was still a nice walk. There are so many trails in the forest here! It's so easy to wander down the wrong one and not realize you went the wrong way until a mile or so later at which point you have to backtrack.

Anyway, below are some pictures. Martin wanted you all to see that the flowers were as tall as he was. And, for my dad, a picture of a big woodpile.

Lunch - we packed our own sandwiches and snacks but bought wine schorles at the restaurant, of course.

Burgruine Neidenfels, overlooking the little hamlet of Neidenfels of course:

I wore my hiking boots and didn't lace them up tight enough ... it's a week after this happened now and these blisters still haven't healed!
