Cycling in the Tauber River Valley
While in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Martin and I rented bikes for a morning and went for a bike ride along the Tauber river (bike rental was only 12 Euros per day which seemed very reasonable). There are wonderful paved bike paths for hundreds of kilometers along the Tauber river and it's quite a popular route for people to spend several days on, exploring all of the little towns along the way.

This was about the widest the Tauber got that we saw ... it was more of a babbling brook than what I would consider a river most of the time.
During our 26-mile ride, we had some pretty views:
rode through some small towns:
took some breaks:
saw a lot of vineyards:
and a lot of sheep:
and the house that Martin is building for me (the first of many second homes that we will have):
and a cute little church:
and then we rode back up the big hill into Rothenburg ob der Tauber:
